Content loading issues on Chrome
To resolve CORS issues or content loading problems in Chrome, clearing your browser's cache and related data can help. Here's a step-by-step guide to completely clear out stuff on Chrome:
- Open Chrome.
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete (Windows) or Command + Shift + Delete (Mac) to open the "Clear browsing data" window.
- Select All Time from the "Time range" dropdown.
- Check the following boxes:
-- Browsing history
-- Cookies and other site data This will log you out, you will need to log back in
-- Cached images and files
- Optionally, you can also select:
-- Passwords and other sign-in data (if you want to clear saved passwords).
-- Autofill form data (if you want to clear autofill information).
- Click Clear data.
- Some extensions may interfere with website behavior, especially developer tools or security extensions.
- Go to the Extensions page by typing chrome://extensions/ in the address bar.
- Disable any extensions that might affect web traffic or block content, such as ad blockers, privacy tools, or developer-focused extensions.
Sometimes, DNS-related issues can cause CORS or content-loading problems. To flush Chrome’s internal DNS cache:
- Open a new tab in Chrome.
- Type chrome://net-internals/#dns in the address bar and press Enter.
- Click Clear host cache.
This will reset Chrome to its default state without deleting your bookmarks or saved passwords:
- Go to chrome://settings/ in the address bar.
- Scroll down and click Advanced.
- Under Reset and clean up, click Restore settings to their original defaults.
- Click Reset settings to confirm.
Make sure Chrome is up-to-date, as outdated versions may not handle CORS properly:
- Go to chrome://settings/help to check for and apply updates.
After following these steps, Chrome should be fully reset and ready to test your video editing app without old cache or data interfering. If you continue to experience CORS issues, it might also be helpful to investigate server-side settings such as Access-Control-Allow-Origin headers.
