SSO Setup for Microsoft and Google

Single Sign-On (SSO) allows your team to securely access Biteable using your organization’s existing identity provider — eliminating the need for separate login credentials. This improves security, simplifies user access, and makes onboarding and offboarding more efficient.

Common Questions:
  • How do I setup single-sign-on (SSO)?
  • What is the process to set up Microsoft / Azure / Entra SSO?
  • Do you support SSO?
  • How do I enable 2 factor authentication (2FA)?

Biteable supports both Azure/Microsoft SSO and Google SSO. The following guides outline the setup process for each, including the steps Biteable takes and what your team will need to complete on your side. SSO is supported in our Business Plan.

Azure/Microsoft SSO Setup Process for Biteable Accounts

1. Request SSO Activation

Contact Biteable Support to request enabling Microsoft SSO for your account.

Once we activate SSO, it will become mandatory for all users on your account.

Identify one team member with the necessary permissions to authorize the SSO connection between Biteable and your Entra/Microsoft/Azure account.

We recommend completing this step on a brief (~15-minute) video call with screen sharing. This ensures the user can successfully complete the authentication and immediately test the connection.

3. Authorize the SSO Connection

The authorized team member logs in and accepts the authentication request to complete the connection between Biteable and your Microsoft environment.

4. Configure Team Permissions

Your IT team configures permissions on their end.

While Biteable does not have visibility into this process, it typically involves provisioning the group of users allowed to authenticate via SSO.

We can share the existing users on the account to simplify this setup.

Any new users added to the account must also be included in the group with SSO permissions to ensure access.

5. Validation

After configuration, we recommend that at least one user perform a test login to confirm that SSO is functioning correctly.

Google SSO Setup Process for Biteable Accounts

1. Request SSO Activation

Contact Biteable Support to request enabling Google SSO for your account.

Once we activate SSO, it will become mandatory for all users on your account.

2. Assign an Authorized Team Member

Identify one team member with the necessary permissions to authorize the SSO connection between Biteable and your Google Workspace account.

This step can typically be completed without a call, though screen sharing can help avoid delays.

3. Authorize the SSO Connection

The authorized team member logs in and approves the Biteable SSO connection in Google Workspace.

Depending on your organization’s settings, authorization may require admin approval.

4. Configure Team Permissions

Google SSO configuration usually involves allowing specific groups or organizational units to authenticate.

This is done in Google Workspace Admin settings.

We can provide the list of existing users to simplify your configuration.

5. Validation

After setup, have at least one team member perform a test login to ensure Google SSO is working correctly.
