Fade out final scene (fade to black) approach

To end your video with a fade to black (or any color), add a short solid-color scene at the end and cross-fade into it.

Steps

1. Click Add Scene at the end of your timeline and add a simple scene.
2. Remove any placeholder content and set the scene's background color to black (or your preferred end color).
3. Shorten the scene's duration — a second or two is plenty.
4. Click the transition menu (the butterfly icon) between your final content scene and the new color scene, and choose Cross fade.

Your video now fades out into the end color. The same trick works for a fade in: put a short color scene at the start and cross-fade out of it.
