Recording your screen
Elevate your next how-to video with Screen Recording. The Screen Recording tool captures what you're seeing on your screen so you can share it with your audience. Record your screen, review the footage, then add it to your Biteable video.
To get started, log into your Biteable account. Click the "+ New video" button at the top of the page, then hit "Record yourself".

Select the "Record my screen" button to the left of the screen.

Click the "Record my screen" button, then choose which screen you'd like to record. You can choose from your entire screen, a window, or a tab. Click "Share".

If you've chosen a window or tab other than the Biteable Screen Recording page, a 3-second countdown will start as soon as you click "Share".
If you're sharing your entire screen, hit "Start recording" and head over to the screen you want to record.
Wait for the 3-second countdown before you begin — you'll hear 3 beeps. After the third beep, your screen and external audio are being recorded.
While you're sharing your screen, you'll see a bar appear at the bottom of your screen.

Hit "Stop sharing" to stop the screen recording at any time, or "Hide" to hide the bar from your recording.
Alternatively, return to your Biteable tab and hit "Stop recording".

Your screen recording is instantly available for playback as soon as you've finished recording it. Hit "Re-record video" if you're not happy with your take and would like to try again, or "Keep video" to save it to your assets.

All your saved screen recordings can be accessed via your "My recordings" folder in "My assets". You can access this folder via your asset library or when adding a scene to a video.

If you need a recording of someone else's screen, you can also send a Screen Recording Request. To do so, click the "+ New video" button at the top of the page, then hit "Request recording".

As with a standard Record Request, you'll need to enter your project details and your recipient's email address — make sure to mention you'd like a recording of their screen. We'll send the invitee an email with your provided info and a link to record.
After opening the record link in the invite email, invitees will have the option to record themselves, or record their screen.
To record your screen, hit the "Record my screen" button.
The screen recorded footage will be saved to the original requester's Biteable account. Find more information on Record Requests here.
Add your recording to your Biteable video, or share just your recording via a watch page link. Once you're finished recording your screen, click "Copy link" to generate a unique link to your screen recording. Share this link with anyone to quickly and easily communicate your message.

Ensure your browser has permission to record your screen. If using macOS, you'll need to give your browser (Chrome, Safari, etc) screen recording permission via System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Screen Recording. Restart your browser before retrying.
