Make a collage, montage, or slideshow video
A collage, montage, or slideshow video strings a series of photos and clips together into one fast-moving video. In Biteable the easiest way to build one is to give each photo or clip its own scene, then set the pace with scene length and transitions.

The simplest approach: one photo or clip per scene
You can put several images on a single scene, and for the occasional scene — a true grid-style collage — that looks great. But every image you add to a scene is one more element whose size, position, and timing you set by hand, so building a whole video that way gets cumbersome fast.
For most collage, montage, and slideshow videos, give each photo or clip its own scene instead. The scene takes care of filling the frame and timing, and you control the rhythm at the scene level — it's far quicker to build and easier to adjust.
Build it step by step
- Upload your images and video — 10 at a time. When you add images or video to your Uploads, the uploader takes up to 10 files per batch, so for a larger set just repeat the upload until everything's in. See Upload your own videos, images, and audio.
- Add each one as its own scene. Click + Add scene, then add your photo or clip as the scene's background so it fills the frame. The quickest way is to drag the file onto the outer edge of the canvas; you can also select the scene, click Add background, and pick it from your Uploads. See Adding images.
- Set the pace with scene length. Shorter scenes give a snappy, quick-cut feel; longer scenes let each image breathe. Adjust each scene's duration on the timeline to taste.
- Add transitions where you want them. On the timeline, use the transition control between scenes to add a transition for a smooth, flowing montage. For a punchy quick-cut style with short scenes, leave transitions set to None so it cuts straight from one image to the next.
Quick recipe: upload 10 at a time → + Add scene → add a photo or clip as the background → repeat. Then set short scene lengths and choose transitions or straight cuts.
When to put several images on one scene
If you specifically want a grid or split-screen look — several images visible at once in a single scene — you can add multiple media items to one scene and arrange them. It's more hands-on (you set each item's size, position, and timing), so save it for the scenes where the layered look is worth the extra effort.
