Accounts that go without a login for over a year are removed as part of routine maintenance — video files can't be hosted indefinitely. When an inactive account is removed, all of its videos and projects are permanently deleted and can't be recovered.
Before removing an inactive account, Biteable sends a series of notification emails. Because the account is inactive and its contact details may be out of date, we can't guarantee those emails reach you.
Common Questions:
- Can I recover my old account or videos from a few years ago?
- Why is my old account gone?
- I logged in and my account is empty — where are my old videos?
- What happens to my videos if I don't log in for a long time?
- Are inactive accounts deleted?
Signing in again creates a new account
If your old account was removed and you sign back in with the same email address, Biteable creates a new, empty account — it does not restore the old one. Your earlier videos aren't hidden inside it; they were permanently deleted along with the old account.
Not sure whether your old account still exists?
Contact support with the email address you originally signed up with, and an agent can check. Keep in mind that videos from several years ago may already have been cleared in an earlier deletion batch.
Looking for videos from before 2022?
Much older videos may instead be from Biteable Lite, which was retired in early 2022 — see Where are my older videos? What happened to Biteable Lite?.
