Record and Record Request allow you to capture footage within Biteable. Before you can record your footage, you’ll need to grant Biteable access to your camera and microphone.

How to check your browser permissions

Chrome

  1. Click the camera icon to the right of your URL bar.

  2. Ensure that “Always allow” or “Continue allowing” are selected. Refresh the page.

  3. If you're still having trouble connecting your camera, click “Manage” or head to Settings > Privacy and Security > Site settings > Camera.

  4. Check that “Sites can ask to use your camera” is selected, and that Biteable isn’t listed under “Not allowed to use your camera”.

  5. Make any necessary changes to your settings, then refresh your Biteable tab.

Edge

  1. Click the camera icon to the right of your URL bar.

  2. Ensure that “Continue allowing camera access” is selected. Refresh the page.

  3. If you’re still having trouble accessing your camera, click the lock icon to the left of your URL bar — just before the “https”. Ensure that camera and microphone permissions are set to “Allow”.

  4. If your camera issues continue, head to your Settings > Cookies and Site Permissions > Camera.

  5. Ensure that “Ask before accessing” is turned on, and that Biteable isn’t listed under “Block”.

  6. Refresh your Biteable page after making any changes to your settings.

Safari

  1. Click the red camera icon to the right of your URL bar.

  2. If camera access is paused, click “Resume, then, “Always Allow” to automatically allow access for future visits. Refresh the page.

  3. If you’re still having trouble accessing your camera, go to Safari > Preferences > Websites > Camera.

  4. Set your camera access to “Allow”.

  5. Refresh your Biteable page after making any changes to your settings.

MacOS app permissions

MacOS (10.14+) requires users to grant camera and microphone permission to every app, including your browser of choice. If using MacOS, check if your browser has permission:

  1. Open System Preferences > and select Security & Privacy > then Camera.

  2. Ensure there is a tick in front of the browser you are using to access Biteable.

  3. Restart your browser to apply the changes.

Other troubleshooting tips

  • Check if another browser or application is trying to access your camera at the same time (like Zoom, for example). Most devices only allow camera access to one application at a time.

  • Ensure that you’re using the most current version of your browser. Updating your browser may help solve any camera access issues.

  • Adblockers and browser extensions can interfere with camera permissions. Consider pausing or removing your browser extensions if having trouble connecting your camera.
