Fitting videos to scene or block duration with fit to clip
Fit to clip resizes a scene (or element block) to match the length of a video in it — so your uploaded clip plays exactly once, with nothing cut off and no freeze at the end.
Fit a scene to your video
- Select the video in your scene.
- In the Timing controls of the properties panel, click Fit scene to clip (shown as Fit to clip for element blocks).
- The scene's duration snaps to the trimmed length of your clip.
You'll also find Fit to Clip in the scene options menu (select the scene in the timeline and open the menu at the top center of the scene), alongside Delete, Duplicate, and Replace Background.
When to use it
- Your uploaded video gets cut off partway through → the scene is shorter than the clip. Fit to clip extends the scene.
- The end of your scene freezes on the last frame → the scene is longer than the clip. Fit to clip shortens it.
If you've trimmed the clip, Fit to clip uses the trimmed duration. See Edit uploaded media for trimming.
